Tripepi Smith’s Always-Be-Learning (#ABL) culture drives us to stay up to speed on constantly changing social media platforms. This knowledge empowers our team to track, interpret and adapt to the latest and greatest social media trends on behalf of the public agencies we serve. The following is the latest installment of our regular roundup of social media news you need to know:
- Meta has introduced new AI-powered account support options, rolling out a centralized hub across Facebook and Instagram. The updated support center brings key tools together in one place, making it easier for users to resolve account issues quickly and efficiently.
- Also from Meta is the push to make AI targeting tools a core part of the ad creation process, with more Advantage+ features now embedded directly into campaign setup. These AI-driven recommendations are designed to gradually enhance ad performance by guiding targeting and optimization seamlessly within campaigns.
- Threads is testing a new “Dear Algo” feature that lets users guide the feed by posting what they want to see more or less of. When a post starts with “Dear Algo,” the app adjusts the user’s recommendations for up to three days, helping further fine tune feeds.
- YouTube is rolling out its AI-powered “Expressive Captions” feature to all devices. These captions add contextual notes on tone, volume, and environmental cues, helping to convey the full sense of the moment and create a more inclusive, expressive viewing experience.
- X is deepening the integration of its Grok AI tools by using AI to organize the “Following” feed based on predicted engagement and relevance, with neither the “Following” nor “For You” feed appearing in chronological order. This could change how users discover content, prioritizing posts the algorithm predicts will be most interesting rather than the most recent.
