Team Tripepi Smith is excited to attend this year’s League of California Cities (Cal Cities) Annual Conference and Expo, taking place October 8–10 in Long Beach. Representing the firm will be President Ryder Todd Smith, Chief Financial Officer Nicole Smith, Principals Katherine Griffiths, APR and Jennifer Vaughn, APR, and Directors Christine Martin and Alexis Brown-Gillam.

As the premier educational event for California’s local government leaders, the conference offers a vital space for agency officials to collaborate, learn and stay current on key policy issues and operational trends.

In addition to attending sessions and connecting with agency leaders, Tripepi Smith will lead a media training workshop on Wednesday, October 9. This training, hosted by Cal Cities, will provide a cohort of council members with strategies and tools to strengthen their public speaking, communications and media relations skills. Ryder will also be moderating a panel entitled, “California Voting Rights Act: Developments, Compliance, and Litigation” on Thursday, October 9. The discussion will examine key legal questions, the status of active cases and the implications for cities navigating at-large and district-based election systems.

“This conference is one that we look forward to every year,” said Ryder. “Our long-term partnership with Cal Cities allows us to stay informed on the issues and ideas shaping California’s cities. It is an opportunity to expand our knowledge, share our experiences and personally connect with the leaders we work with across California.”

Tripepi Smith is proud to be a Principal-level partner of Cal Cities and to have supported the organization for over a decade.

About The League of California Cities

The League of California Cities has been shaping the Golden State’s political landscape since the association was founded in 1898. We defend and expand local control through advocacy efforts in the Legislature, at the ballot box, in the courts, and through strategic outreach that informs and educates the public, policymakers, and opinion leaders. Cal Cities also offers education and training programs designed to teach city officials about new developments in their field and exchange solutions to common challenges facing their cities.
