Tripepi Smith is proud to continue its partnership with MCE, supporting California’s pioneering community choice aggregator with strategic social media and community engagement services.
From tailored content creation and video storytelling to managing social media campaigns, Tripepi Smith helps MCE connect with residents and businesses across its San Francisco Bay Area service area, highlighting MCE’s commitment to equitable, clean and reliable energy.
“MCE is about people and the planet, and Tripepi Smith helps us put those stories front and center,” said MCE Director of Communications and Community Engagement Jenna Tenney. “Their team understands the nuances of the energy sector and has been a vital partner in helping us turn our mission into a conversation with the communities we serve.”
The Tripepi Smith team — led by Senior Business Analyst Peter Johnson, Business Analysts Hannah Wedepohl and Kendall Lowery and Junior Business Analyst Ted Hwang — provides comprehensive social media support, including content creation, strategic guidance, analytics reporting and monitoring.
The team has collaborated on several key initiatives, including MCE’s 15 Faces for 15 Years campaign, which commemorated 15 board members, staff leaders and community partners essential to MCE’s legacy and success. The campaign highlighted the diverse people and organizations that worked alongside MCE to build a more sustainable future and make community-led energy a reality for the first time in California.
Another significant component of the partnership is the ongoing production of premium social media videos that bring MCE’s community impact to life. Tripepi Smith provided on-site filming during its 2025 Community Power Symposium in Concord, mural unveiling event in Martinez and the Because of Youth Festival in Vallejo, capturing the energy and collaborative spirit that defines the organization. These campaigns featured on-site footage and interviews captured and edited by Tripepi Smith’s videographers.
Looking forward, the Tripepi Smith team is set to continue developing compelling video content for MCE at upcoming renewable energy project tours, crafting engaging stories that resonate with diverse audiences. Tripepi Smith remains committed to delivering strategic support that amplifies the organization’s message and strengthens its digital presence.
“MCE is doing incredible work to change California’s energy future, and our team is proud to help share that progress,” said Hannah. “We love telling the human stories behind their work and using social media to show how MCE is building a better future for its communities.”
About MCE
MCE established the first Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) in California after state law was passed to make this new type of energy provider possible. As the trailblazer for local clean energy, MCE was the first not-for-profit organization to offer electricity as an alternative to PG&E. With their launch in 2010, customers in our service area had a choice in electricity providers for the first time, along with the benefits of increased transparency from a public agency.
