Cal Choice logoTripepi Smith collaborated with CalChoice Energy Authority (CalChoice) to create new member agency Power Choice CARE webpages, developing an accessible and user-friendly digital experience for income-qualified households seeking sustainable energy solutions.

The Power Choice CARE program provides California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) and Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) customers new opportunities to install home solar energy systems with emergency backup power. Made possible through California’s Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP), the offering makes clean energy adoption more affordable than ever for qualifying families.

“CalChoice’s Power Choice CARE program is a key addition to our program offerings, providing access to clean energy for families who need it most,” said CalChoice Interim CEO Rob Johnson. “Tripepi Smith’s expertise in the local community choice aggregation space and webpage development helped us create a webpage that matches the program’s mission of making sustainable energy accessible and affordable for income-qualified households.”

Tripepi Smith focused on streamlining the user experience by providing easily accessible resources that help eligible customers quickly understand the program’s key benefits and navigate the application process.

Team Tripepi Smith was led by Director Sara Madsen and Business Analyst Olivia Rizzuto, who provided overall design direction and oversaw implementation, and Junior Business Analyst Ted Hwang, who developed and executed the webpage creation.

“Power Choice CARE is a great opportunity for CalChoice member customers, but it is key that they can easily access and understand the program,” said Sara. “Our new pages prioritize clarity and accessibility, ensuring that eligible households can quickly grasp the program’s value and take action before funding runs out.”

The new Power Choice CARE pages serve as a critical digital gateway for eligible families to access transformative energy solutions, and the project reinforces Tripepi Smith’s commitment to supporting public agencies in delivering essential services for their residents through strategic digital communication.
