Apple Valley Choice Energy (AVCE), an associate member of CalChoice, recently rolled out a new letterhead design created by Tripepi Smith, marking the firm’s first project with AVCE. The design process included three initial concepts: one with simple geometric shapes, another focused on green energy elements and a third that combined AVCE’s logo with an image of Horseman’s Center Park, which was ultimately selected. The final letterhead balances professionalism with community representation.
“From customer notices to agency letters, our letterhead is a key part of how we represent Apple Valley Choice Energy,” said Apple Valley Choice Energy Special Project Manager Pamela Quick. “Tripepi Smith delivered a clean, versatile design that reflects who we are – locally grounded, forward-thinking and community driven.”
AVCE is Tripepi Smith’s eleventh community choice aggregation client. Since 2017, the firm has collaborated with CCAs across California on website creation, brand development, social media strategy, program marketing and community engagement, helping cities achieve their sustainability goals.
Principal Katherine Griffiths and Business Analyst Kendall Lowery led the effort, with support from Creative Director Kevin Bostwick and Graphic Designer Jenni Wechsler. The team worked closely with Town staff throughout the design process to ensure the final layout reinforced Apple Valley Choice Energy’s commitment to professionalism, clarity and community representation. In addition to visual appeal, accessibility was a key consideration. The final design adheres to ADA standards, including attention to color contrast, font legibility and overall readability to ensure the letterhead is inclusive and functional for all users.
“We wanted the letterhead to feel modern and polished, but also practical for day-to-day use. Our collaboration with Town staff was essential in making sure the final design struck the perfect balance between form and function,” said Jenni. “I appreciated getting the chance to work with Apple Valley Choice Energy to create a memorable and unique leaderhead. The updated design is memorable and unique with the integration of their logo to the inclusion of a local landmark.”
“We truly value our ongoing partnership with CalChoice and are grateful for the continued opportunity to support their network,” said Katherine. “Collaborating with another one of their associate members reinforces the trust and connection we’ve built over time, and we’re proud to contribute to the impactful work Apple Valley Choice Energy is doing.”
