As part of its ongoing commitment to employee development and well-being, the City of Indian Wells partnered with Tripepi Smith Talent Solutions (TSTS) to host a tailored LinkedIn training seminar during the City’s Wellness Week. The session was designed to support the City’s team of local government professionals in enhancing their online presence, building meaningful networks and amplifying their community impact.

The interactive 60-minute session, led by TSTS’ Business Analyst Morgan Teruel and supported by Director Christine Martin, focused on equipping staff with the skills needed to create strong, authentic LinkedIn profiles, effectively communicate civic achievements and leverage LinkedIn as a platform for professional growth and public transparency.

“TSTS provided a thoughtful and engaging training that helped us invest directly in the growth of our team,” said Kristen Nelson, Administrative Services Manager at the City of Indian Wells. “Their guidance empowered staff to better understand how to represent themselves and the City with confidence, professionalism and purpose.”

The session featured an instructional presentation followed by a live Q&A, covering key topics such as profile optimization for public service roles, content strategies to promote government initiatives and best practices for building and engaging with professional networks.

In alignment with the City’s employee Wellness Week focus on personal and professional well-being, TSTS also offered individual coaching sessions to help staff refine their digital presence and receive personalized feedback tailored to their career goals.

“Our goal with this seminar was to provide City staff with practical tools and personalized guidance that support both their individual growth and the City’s broader communication goals,” said Morgan. “By tailoring our approach to the needs of local government professionals, we were able to deliver a meaningful experience that helped staff feel more confident and empowered in how they represent themselves and their work.”

Whether highlighting a new community program, celebrating team milestones or connecting with other municipal professionals across California, participants left the session with practical tools to elevate both their personal brand and the City’s digital footprint.

“TSTS is proud to partner with Indian Wells on this initiative,” said Christine. “Digital fluency is a critical skill for today’s public sector workforce and the City’s commitment to investing in its team will foster professional growth while more effectively communicating City initiatives and highlighting civic achievements. ”
