City of El Cerritos Newsletter cover for spring/summer 2026The City of El Cerrito, in partnership with Tripepi Smith, produced its Spring/Summer 2026 News and Views newsletter, a digital and print publication mailed to residents and made available at the City’s website. The framework for this success was established in April 2023, when Tripepi Smith executed a comprehensive redesign of the publication that transformed it into a modern, cost-effective format with cohesive City branding. Throughout a multi-year partnership, Tripepi Smith has supported the City in producing two editions annually, released in the spring and fall.

To ensure the newsletter’s success, Business Analyst Abby Romano led project management for the publication, with dedicated content and production support from Senior Business Analyst Kalee Cummings and design from Jr. Graphic Designer Jenna Cousineau — a core team that has supported this effort for over two years.

The resulting 4-page, tabloid-fold newsletter reflects the strength of this established workflow. While City staff provides the core content, Tripepi Smith manages the collection, polishing, design and timely distribution to maximize its community impact. The completed publications serve as comprehensive, standalone resources for the community, highlighting key milestones like historic housing and infrastructure updates and local recognitions.

“The Tripepi Smith team helped bring our vision for News and Views to life with a clean, engaging layout that effectively highlights everything from notable project updates to upcoming community events,” said Assistant to the City Manager Will Provost. “Their attention to detail and collaborative spirit have made them a fantastic asset in our community outreach efforts.”

By consolidating diverse city updates into a single, highly polished layout, the project stands as a practical example of how agencies can successfully streamline municipal communication.

“Working with the City of El Cerrito over the years has been a very rewarding experience,” said Kalee. “Our team has loved finding creative ways to streamline this impactful content so that it is highly accessible, visually engaging and genuinely inspires community connection.”
