The City of Marina called on Tripepi Smith to help design and launch the City’s first monthly e-newsletter, Marina on the Move. With support from Tripepi Smith’s communications team, the City distributed its inaugural issue on Jan. 31 to more than 600 subscribers.
“Bringing the Marina on the Move e-newsletter to life marks an important step in the City’s continued investment in community engagement,” said City Manager Layne Long. “Our partnership with Tripepi Smith has helped turn our vision for a more connected Marina into action. Their coordination with staff to compile updates from departments across the organization, along with their support in design and distribution, ensures residents now receive regular updates that are accessible, thoughtful and engaging.”
The City engaged Tripepi Smith’s general communications services in June 2025. The project team is led by Senior Business Analyst Peter Johnson and Business Analyst Amy Gallagher, with support from Business Analyst Mia Valenzuela and Junior Business Analyst Nicole Weber. Working collaboratively with City staff, the team gathered departmental updates, developed written content and designed the newsletter within the City’s email distribution platform, Constant Contact.
In advance of the launch, the team implemented a targeted social media campaign to build awareness and created a dedicated webpage to archive future editions and capture new subscribers. Following distribution of the first issue, engagement metrics exceeded industry benchmarks, reflecting strong community interest in City news and updates.
“Seeing the positive public response to this new initiative has been incredibly rewarding,” said Peter. “Marina has so many exciting projects underway, and we are proud to help share timely information that keeps residents informed and connected to their local government.”
With several major initiatives underway, including the newly launched Marina Connect app and development of an all-inclusive playground, Tripepi Smith and the City of Marina look forward to highlighting continued progress in future editions of Marina on the Move.
