In 2023, the City of Baldwin Park partnered with Tripepi Smith to help launch the outreach for Baldwin Park Greenway, an active transportation project that transformed an underutilized corridor along the San Gabriel River into a 2.3-mile protected pathway. Part of the City’s efforts to improve connectivity, expand access to parks and promote sustainable transportation, the project involved extensive planning, community input and regional coordination before opening in February 2026.
“The Greenway represents a major investment in the health, connectivity and quality of life of our residents,” said Baldwin Park Chief Executive Officer Manuel Carrillo Jr. “Tripepi Smith helped us share that vision and ensured residents stayed informed and engaged as we celebrated this accessible green space for all.”
The City looked to Tripepi Smith to develop a strategic communications plan that would build awareness of the Greenway throughout every phase of the project. Tripepi Smith Principal Jennifer Nentwig and Senior Business Analyst Peter Johnson led the charge, with support from Business Analyst Emma Catuara and Junior Business Analyst Talia James.
The team created the Greenway’s visual identity and branding, promoted key milestones by securing media placements, informed residents of upcoming construction, enhanced City website content, produced grand opening and staff interview videos and shared regular project updates across the City’s social media channels. Educational materials and citywide surveys were also created in both English and Spanish.
Furthermore, Tripepi Smith worked closely with ActiveSGV, a San Gabriel Valley nonprofit organization dedicated to sustainability and community activity. Through their partnership, the teams promoted community programming related to the Greenway like bicycle repair workshops and safety education courses.

We are proud to have helped tell that story and connect residents with a project that will benefit the community for generations.”
The Baldwin Park Greenway provides residents with a safe, ADA-accessible route connecting Ramona Boulevard, Walnut Creek Nature Park and Baldwin Park Boulevard, and the City is already planning for a future extension that will expand the Greenway into a five-mile network of connected pathways throughout Baldwin Park.
