Tripepi Smith is pleased to welcome Benjamin Smith to the team as its newest junior business analyst on September 22.

Ben graduated from Claremont McKenna College (CMC) in 2024 with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in public policy and film studies, along with a sequence in data science. As an undergraduate, he served as lab manager for the CMC Policy Lab, leading research on issues including voting access, voter turnout and congressional earmarks. He also interned at Ball Aerospace, where he developed models using satellite data to detect physical changes in the energy sector, further strengthening his research and data science expertise.
After completing his undergraduate degree, Ben earned a Master of Science in energy policy and finance at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. His research covered a wide range of local government policy issues and culminated in a dissertation examining the historical context of California’s community choice aggregations and their role in expanding local control over energy procurement.
