The City of American Canyon partnered with Tripepi Smith to design its first ever Budget in Brief for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026. The piece is designed to be an easy-to-read, visually rich and accessible eight-page snapshot of the City’s $154.2 million financial plan, empowering residents to see how every dollar contributes to building a stronger, more vibrant community.
“Transparency and community trust are at the core of our financial operations and communications,” said Finance Director Jemelyn Cruz. “Tripepi Smith took those principles to heart and delivered a beautifully designed Budget in Brief that helps residents learn how our budget fuels the services and priorities that matter most. Tripepi Smith Creative Director Kevin Bostwick, Senior Graphic Designer Sean Talbot and Senior Business Analyst Kalee Cummings led the effort to translate complex financial information into a clear, engaging format. Working closely with City staff, the team developed custom graphics, intuitive data visualizations and thoughtful layout elements to make the document both informative and inviting. Every design decision reflected American Canyon’s values of fiscal responsibility and community engagement. The document also guides readers through the City’s financial structure, showing how strategic investments align with its long-term goals.
