In preparation for the launch of its new website, the City of Cupertino engaged Tripepi Smith (TS) to conduct a content audit, ensuring that messaging was clear, consistent and aligned with the City’s goals and values throughout the site.
The project involved a comprehensive review of the City’s 100 highest-performing pages, which resulted in recommendations for both content strategy and optimization. Content strategy recommendations included updates to tone and voice to achieve cohesive messaging and maintain brand identity. Content optimization included reworking the content to improve clarity and ensure that the messaging was relevant and engaging to the target audience. Beyond the work of the website content audit, Cupertino also tapped Tripepi Smith to assist with the implementation of recommendations.
The project was a testament to teamwork, spearheaded by Principal Jennifer Nentwig and Senior Business Analyst Devyn Fisher. Junior Business Analysts Avi Vemuri and Erica Chandler took the lead on initial page reviews and implementation, with Junior Business Analyst Ethan de la Peña joining in to provide valuable support. The team worked seamlessly together, fostering a cohesive vision for the project.
“It was a pleasure to conduct a thorough assessment of Cupertino’s content across the site to guarantee that content was as fresh and optimized as the new website design,” said Tripepi Smith Junior Business Analyst Avi Vemuri. “A city’s website is a critical part of keeping constituents well-informed and providing access to needed information. This content audit was fundamental in enhancing the City of Cupertino’s digital presence so they can communicate with their community in a transparent and effective manner.”
Following the delivery of the audit, a new scope of work emerged, allowing Tripepi Smith to further enhance website user experience and navigation alongside the website launch. These supplemental search engine optimization efforts included conducting a Google scan to optimize indexing, transferring and adding new relevant keywords to pages and implementing the “Best Bets” feature within the OpenCities web platform.
TS also engaged the Cupertino IT department for a detailed training session explaining the audit findings and recommendations to City department heads. This collaborative effort helped bring the vision for the new website to life.
“Partnering with Tripepi Smith on the launch of our new website was a fantastic experience,” said Samantha LoCurto, Communications and Marketing Coordinator. “What started out as a simple audit and implementation evolved into a full collaboration to enhance user experience and search optimization, and we couldn’t be happier. Their expertise and hands-on support were crucial to the success of this project.”
Tripepi Smith is excited to expand our scope of work with comprehensive website auditing services. Driven by our commitment to customer satisfaction and delivering high-quality results, we help create websites that are not only accessible and user-friendly, but also enhanced to serve residents more effectively.
