Benjamin Smith is an intellectually curious and results-driven individual with a background in public policy and data science. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Film Studies, with a Sequence in Data Science from Claremont McKenna College and his Master of Science in Energy Policy and Finance from the University of St Andrews.

As an undergraduate, Benjamin managed the CMC Policy Lab, where he gained experience in local government and conducted research on issues such as voter turnout and access. For his master’s dissertation, he explored the role of California’s community choice aggregators in redistributing energy procurement authority to local communities. Benjamin is dedicated to continually expanding his skill set, which has led to proficiency across diverse tools and media, including programming, graphic design and video production.

His clients include the City of Paramount, City of Napa, Clean Energy Alliance, CalCCA, Climatec and Meltwater.
