The Challenge:

Climatec, the leading provider of design, implementation and funding solutions for agencies looking to modernize aging infrastructure, serves the energy efficiency needs of education, local government and special districts. Their work with these verticals is a part of their Climatec Community Connect (C3) campaign, an ongoing segment of their specialties.

While the central focus of these C3 programs is to renovate or build energy efficient infrastructure, once construction is complete, Climatec offers its customers support in promoting the work that was done.

Tripepi Smith has been Climatec’s communications partner since 2022. One of the many ways the Tripepi Smith team supports Climatec is by supplementing the communications and marketing services offered to Climatec’s C3 customers. Climatec looks to Tripepi Smith for their expertise in how to craft and deliver impactful messaging for each of its customers. .

Our Approach:

Tripepi Smith has completed a multitude of services for each C3 customer, such as writing and distributing press releases, creating social media content, design and supporting websites or webpages, designing promotional materials or capturing stock photography of the infrastructure improvements. The most popular deliverable offered is a video showcasing the scope of the project and its impact.

Climatec and the Tripepi Smith team collaborate to work with the C3 customer to note the most important aspects of the modernization program and secure relevant speakers. Tripepi Smith’s videography team then develops a shot list and interview questions. The C3 customer is looped in on all details of the video shoot to ensure the videographer has access to all areas needed to capture and the interviewees can give comprehensive answers.

These video shoots are typically one to two days long. During these shoots, our videographers typically capture two to three interviews with relevant staff with the customer and one to two interviews with Climatec staff involved in the project. Several hours are dedicated to capturing b-roll footage and drone of all construction sites and their completed product.

Results:

Once the shoot is complete, the videography team edits two versions of the video:

  • Customer-Branded Video: Ideal for the customer’s website, social media or email outreach.
  • Climatec-Branded Video: Used on the Climatec Energy Services webpage and targeted outreach efforts such as conference emails.

The videos not only tell compelling stories – they deliver results. For example, conference emails featuring projects like the Association of Chief Business Officials (ACBO) Spring Conference and the League of California Cities (Cal Cities) City Leaders Summit) generated 37 clicks on the video links alone.
