The Challenge

As a small town in Sonoma County, the Town of Windsor recognized the value of enhancing its communication to better engage with residents, demonstrate transparency and build trust. With tremendous growth opportunities in the tourism industry coupled with challenges of infrastructure needs, the Town sought expert guidance to assess existing practices and build a stronger, more cohesive communication framework.

Our Approach

Windsor partnered with Tripepi Smith to conduct an Express Communications Assessment which evaluated the Town’s communication strategies, tools, policies and platforms. This foundational step helped identify gaps, opportunities and recommendations for immediate and long-term improvements.

Following the assessment, Tripepi Smith implemented a series of strategic and tactical updates including:

  • Stock Photo Shoot: Conducted a customized photo shoot throughout the community to provide Windsor with a library of high-quality, local imagery that could be used across digital and print materials.
  • Logo Refinement: Provided guidance on refining the Town’s logo to ensure visual consistency across platforms and to support a more modern and professional civic brand.
  • Website Update: In partnership with CivicPlus, we updated key portions of the Town’s website to improve usability and visual appeal with the updated logo and style guide.
  • Social Media Management: We began developing content and platform management to help the Town deliver timely, engaging content to connect with residents and businesses
  • Social Media Policy: Drafted a clear, practical policy to guide staff on how to responsibly and effectively use social media on behalf of the Town.
