The City of Palmdale sought to strengthen its communications with residents and businesses to build trust and deepen community engagement. To support and elevate its growing communications efforts, the City sought a strategic partner that could provide both institutional knowledge and specialized expertise.

Our Approach

Palmdale engages Tripepi Smith as an extension of its in-house communications team, supporting the Communications Manager to provide ongoing support. The partnership focuses on building meaningful connections with the community, highlighting economic development, promoting Parks and Recreation programming and strengthening the City’s outreach and engagement efforts.

The team holds weekly check-in calls to collaborate with City staff and stay aligned on evolving priorities. Key offerings include:

  • Social Media Creation and Management – Tripepi Smith develops and distributes 3-5 social media posts on a daily basis based on topics identified through the City’s website, planning discussions with department heads, staff requests and additional sources. The team developed an expansive suite of branded templates to ensure a cohesive visual identity across platforms. The team also optimized Palmdale’s Meta and Nextdoor accounts, enabling the City to deploy targeted advertising campaigns to reach specific audiences as needed.
  • Website Management – Tripepi Smith provides ongoing website management to ensure the City’s pages remain current and accurate. The team also conducts regular ADA compliance reviews, providing best practices and remediation to maintain accessibility for all users.
  • Newsletter and Press Release Development – Tripepi Smith develops and distributes extensive written content for the City of Palmdale, including a bi-weekly City newsletter, quarterly Palmdale Playhouse newsletter and intermittent specialized newsletters for seasonal campaigns. The team also drafts and distributes timely press releases to key local media outlets, expanding the City’s visibility and ensuring news is communicated clearly to the press and residents on the City’s website.
  • Photography and Videography – Tripepi Smith collaborates with Palmdale staff to produce high-quality video and photo content that elevates the City’s storytelling and strengthens its connection with the community. The team records City Council and Planning Commission meetings, provides on-site photography and video for events and campaigns and develops recap content that promotes services and events. In addition, Tripepi Smith captures key moments across the community, documenting council meetings, events and everyday scenes that reflect Palmdale’s identity and community pride. Tripepi Smith also produces the City’s AV EDGE showcase video series, highlighting economic development and the future of Palmdale, as well as Palmdale’s State of the City, showcasing major initiatives, community investment and the City’s long-term vision.
  • Graphic Design – Graphic design plays a central role in the success of the City of Palmdale’s communications. Tripepi Smith provides ongoing graphic design support, producing a wide range of materials including logos, flyers, postcards, banners and large-scale signage that reinforce a cohesive and recognizable City brand. The team also manages the copyediting, design and layout of Palmdale Magazine, a 52-page publication that covers City initiatives and serves as an activity guide for residents.
  • Monthly Metrics Reporting – Tripepi Smith’s monthly metrics reports provide Palmdale with a snapshot of its communications performance, from social media reach and engagement to top webpages and newsletter opens, enabling data-driven decision-making. These reports include in-depth analysis from Tripepi Smith, which helps tailor the City’s communication outreach for maximum impact. Furthermore, insights from these metrics reports enable Tripepi Smith to provide strategic recommendations to the City of Palmdale, helping the City prioritize communications efforts that advance its engagement objectives.
  • Emergency Communications – Tripepi Smith crafts and distributes rapid emergency communications when needed.
